rgd is reporting on another thread that Jeremy Lucas is being advised to rest his arm completely for two week. An MRI is showing no serious injury.

rgd also reports that Browning does have arm issues...which explains why he didn't pitch last weekend or this weekend thus far. He is expected to have an MRI early this coming week to determine the extent of his injury.

Nothing new on Ferguson, who reportedly had a torn rotator cuff on his throwing arm.

Here's rgd's posting from another thread (edited):

"Lucas had an MRI on Monday and was told by the doctor to take two weeks off. Browning is having an MRI on Tuesday to find out the full extent of his ailments. Worse case scenarios for both - red shirt their sophomore seasons."

Does anyone else have any details to add?

After watching all three games this weekend, I think the Sycamores will be okay as the conference schedule approaches. My initial thoughts are that Rae and Van Skike are going to keep us in most conference games. Manaea threw well for 5 innings today, but seems to lose a little bit of stuff when he has to throw from the stretch. Drake was very good coming out of the pen two days in a row. Drake could just as easy be the #3 pitcher, but with the injury to Browning - I am sure that he will be called upon to be the closer for the rest of the year. The catching situation is what it is. It is very difficult to lose your starting catcher, yet still maintain the continuity that is needed in the P and C relationship. And I am not even mentioning the offense that Lucas brings to the line up. However, Richart played well today and even recorded his first two hits of the year. The more that Richart plays, the more comfortable he will get - both offensively and defensively. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Lucas will be back (and healthy) this year. And by the way, Weinzapfel was excellent yesterday - considering he had never caught in a collegiate game. Could you imagine being recruited and playing INF for the majority of your playing career and then being thrust into the most difficult position on the field in a 0-0, 15 inning game? His effort was outstanding! The OF has been solid both offensively and defensively. Ferguson's injury is obviously effecting the depth we have - but Burnam, Ort and Hileman have done well defensively and offensively. I just worry about our depth due to Ferguson's injury. Obviously, we have a lot of depth in the INF. Coach Heller has been using an offensive rotation in pinch hitting/pinch running situations throughout the game. "Big John" Hedges seems to be most comfortable at 1B, although Walterhouse can also play there as well. There has been competition at SS between Pearson and Miera. Both are solid defensively - but Miera seems to have a slight edge offensively. Kraemer has played both at 2B and 3B and brings great defense to the table, but I don't think he is a 4 hole hitter. With Ort having a great weekend, I think he is the obvious choice to hit clean up. Wampler has been the biggest surprise to me. He can obviously play defense, but his offense has been more than expected for a true freshman. I think we all realize that Eastern Kentucky is not a MoVal caliber baseball team, but the Sycamores showed some grit this weekend in earning a sweep! Sweeping a collegiate team is difficult, especially with the changes in the bat regulations this year.

True Blue posted this on another thread today (Tuesday):

"Listened to the Rick Heller show last night. Said Lucas and Browning have some issues with their arms. Not sure how long on either one of them. Ferguson hurt his shoulder on a swing. Dorsett has been injured as well. He didn't say what is wrong. Heilman was injured earlier this year, foot."

We understand Dorsett's injury is to his throwing shoulder. No word on how serious it is,
