Our record stands at 12-5 which is borderline a great record, read very good.

I look at our players stats and see 8 players batting better than .300.
Robert Ort and Luke Fieser are batting over .390.

We're 37 of 42 steal attempts. Our opponents have only stolen 14 against us. We're scoring runs at a strong clip with 130 in 17 games.

Our starting pitching is 6-4 with an era that's a little more than 5 runs a game, which seams very reasonable for college ball, and we've got a reliever who's 4-0.

These are just a few stats, when looking over all the numbers it seems there a lot of good things going on with State. But all I can go by are the stats, very doubtful that SycamoreVision will cover any games.

What does it look like for us going into Valley play? Are we happy with how we've played up to now? Does it look like we're gonna carry this very good start deep into the season? What's the prognostication?

I think we will do very good in the Valley, much like last season. The offense can be weak at times, and sometimes they are pounding the ball. It seems as if they are streaky hitters.

A very good question. Some of our pre-season competition has been weak...hence a slightly elevated batting average and possibly a slightly lower ERA. BUT, four of those losses were by two runs or less...and should have been wins IF we were getting the clutch hitting we need (jlandrus23 is right on). The starting pitching seems to be moving in the right direction and overall the starting and relief pitching seems to be a little further along at this point in the season than last year. It is all about putting all of the pieces together so the puzzle is cohesive and the pieces are in the right place...not just jammed into some random spots! This weekend we're playing a team that has a strong offense and a so-so pitching corps and they, too are looking to put all of the pieces together. Illinois State, even at home, will not be a pushover. They have what it takes to sweep us...as we have the same ability to swwep them. It will all come out to this...who is ready? Who has the pieces of the puzzle working cohesively?

we are very dominant at home again. they just need to win on the road which was the teams weakness last year, and hopefully not this year.

We're going to have to do a lot of that. Check out the schedule. Right now I'd be happy with anything above .500 in the Valley.

no doubt, after this month we are on the road basically the rest of the season. I like the fact that we steal bases like no other. I was worried after we lost bronco teams would be more likely to steal on us. Teams have but not at the rate i figured. we are a base stealing machine!

I like how Coach Heller is aggressive. One game runners at 1st and 2nd with 0 outs and most coaches would obvioulsy bunt in that situation. Coach Heller puts on the double steal and caught Western Michigan by suprise. I love it!
