Beautiful weather today in Charleston, South Carolina. Gametime temp at 4:00 p.m. is expected to be 71-degrees with winds from the north/northwest at 10-20 mph.

Game one today could be the best pitcher's duel of the year so far as jake Petricka has been strong in his last three appearances as he approaches last year's mid-season form. But, ISU is facing a buzzsaw in the opposing pitcher Asher Wojciechowski who has made seven starts and is 7-0 on the season with a 2.62 ERA. Wojo (as he is fondly known) leads the nation in strikeouts with 68 in 48 innings pitched. His opposing batting average is just .217. As you can tell, he goes nearly the distance in every appearance...although he has not recorded a complete game. As a hole, the team is 11-1 in conference play and was ranked in one poll for one week at #25 (see the game preview thread for more info and links to pre-game stories).

Today's game will be available on WISU (FM 89.7) and Live Stats service will be available, too. Links to both are below:

In addition, video feed of the game is available for all three games. One game is $4.95 or you can buy the whole weekend for $6.95. Here is the link for the video service:

Pre-Game Show on WISU: Coach Heller says Riley Field is a minor league ballpark for the Yankee's organization. It has a fast infield with burmuda over-seaded with rye and hard-packed dirt. Hope we can get used to it. The wind is blowing from right to left, favoring fly balls hit to left. Treating this game as a trial run for the conference tournament. Wojo will show more velosity than we've seen...hitting 94 mph. We'll see a lot of sliders down. Petricka is outstanding...has gotten progressively better in last three starts. INJURY UPDATE: Levi Ferguson made the trip and is working out and hitting batting practice. He will not play this weekend, but there is an outside chance he might be ready for Wichita State series next weekend...but probably not. Little shake-up in the batting order with Ort moving to clean-up...Fieser to the three hole and Graham to fifth.

Announcer said that the stolen base probably should have been a passed ball as runner was not going and that the single to Fieser probably should have been an E-5.

Boy, Wojo or whatever his name is, gets a wide strike zone. The last one to Hartley looked outside. He is also close to quick pitching every pitch. We need to call time-out and disrupt him.

Looked like Grgurich could have been on second base. The ball bounced pretty far away from the outfielder Couldn't see if he was doggin it to first or not.

A hard-fought game until the ninth. Pitching through eight had some blips, but overall was solid. Offensively, two players really were responsible for all three Sycamore scores. Ort had two solo homers and Strausborger in the first singled, stole two bases and came home on a wild throw by the catcher trying to nail him at third. Just seven hits on the day. Wojo was effective for The Citadel, but you could tell he wasn't having his best game. He struck out six in eight innings of work and was charged with all three runs. Harlan gets the loss, he's 1-1 on the year and Copenhaver gets the win for his inning of work.

We need to learn from this and move on. Just judging by numbers, we have a chance to win the next two. We have some guys slumping right now like Graham and Grgurich. Browning as well.

Did anyone purchase the video feed from Citadel? I may do that for the last two games if it was decent viewing?

I purchased the weekend package, but never could connect...until finally it worked after the game was over lol! From what he said in the post above, true blue was successful.
