in other games, ILS beat UNI, and WSU beat SIU barely, the women could have used an SIU win over WSU today.

Looks like they need to finish 9-9 to avoid the play in game.

ISU needs WSU to lose both games this week and ISU needs to win at Drake and CU.

or if UNI loses both games they'd be 9-9 too, not sure who has the tiebreak, ISU or UNI??
 
great game today! good to see the team playing so well down the stretch. On another note does anyone know where krista smith and megan burton were today?

It is my understanding that Krista was sick today. A few weeks ago it was announced that Megan is taking a break from basketball for the rest of the season.

oh ok thanks for the info sage. I am so stoked to see how well these ladies can do the rest of the season. would be awesome if they could win out, i would guess if they could make it to semis of the tourney they would get an nit invite and get to host a game. Go State!!!!!!!!
 
I would hope they can redeem the loss to Drake and win in Des Moines this week, winning at CU would be tough.

If WSU loses both its' road games this week they finish 8-10, same as ISU would be if they go 1-1 this week, who wins the tie breaker between ISU and WSU for the 6 seed??
 
Im not sure but it would be huge to get out of that "playin" game on thurs nite. I mean winning 4 games in 4 nights it was pretty tough especially considering how it seems we are only going 8 deep if not 7 deep since the coaching change. That and its not like years past when "evil Isu and Misery state" had the homecourt advantage as the 8 seeds. So yeah hopefully state can win out and get the six seed.
 
Ok I did the math and in order of us to get the sixth seed we have to beat both Creighton and Drake and Wichita State has to lose both of its remaining games on the road at UNI and Bradley. If Wichita wins one of those games they will have the tie breaker on us in the power ranking system. However, with the way we have been playing it is definitely possible for us to win out. They have been playing lights out defense and the shots are falling. If they can continue to play like this, there is no reason to think they can't grab two more wins next weekend.

Evansville was the #9 seed last season when they went on their run -- beat #8 SIU, #1 ILS, #4 Bradley and #2 Creighton. Then got a #15 seed in the tournament and just couldn't hang with #2 Texas A&M.
 
One other thing ive noticed since the suspension of Wiedie is the reemergence of deja, I mean through most of this season she had disappeared, its nice to see her playing so well again, the way she was playing last season before her injury. We are gonna need her next season after luna graduates. I didnt even know she had such a great 3 pt shot! I look forward to seeing her excel the next two seasons as she has most likely returned to the top of my favorite players list after this past month.
