We had the chance to go to B'ton to watch the Women's Golf Team at the IU Invitational. These girls are focused! They play smart, smooth and steady. Great tournament for Breanne Smith. Overall the team finished 11th out of 15 very high quality teams. Go Sycamores!

picked 5th for MVC golf meet

they're picked to finish 5th in the MVC tourney this weekend, just another ISU team that's moving up the MVC food chain ladder.

Slowly but surely the ISU sports teams are moving up, now if only Softball and Soccer and Volleyball could start moving up too?

I believe soccer is on its way up with the new coaching staff - there are a couple handfuls of kids coming in next year who have signed NLIs and they already made huge strides this past season.

Volleyball, softball...I don't see them becoming good for awhile...

Totally agree DaleFor - soccer is on its way up. They had one of their better seasons over the 10 years of the program last season, nearly hosting an MVC tournament game, and that was before coach True and assistant coach Ruetz could get any of their own players into the program.

Softball and volleyball still have a lot of work to do before they start making the strides that basketball and football have shown, as far as steady improvement goes, but hopefully that can get there as well.

Don't know a thing about softball, although we have attended a fund raiser or two for them....just haven't been able to break away from work, etc. to get to the ball games.

Volleyball is looking to improve this year as Coach Dahl is going into her second year with her recruits. It's been an uphill climb, but she's bringing in some real talented kids who are willing to put in the work to improve. These games are very exciting and now with the arena air conditioned it's going to be a positive as well. I encourage you to try to catch some of these games this fall. Very, very exciting stuff there. Cheap, too. I think $4 or $5.
