he coached linebackers when i was there.....

i've known mark for quite a long time....he coached both defensive line and linebackers.....and he will be the linebackers coach at meechigan....lol....

Coach Smith was at ISU for about 15 years and after Shannon Jackson took over the D line around 2000. Mark took over the backersand eventually D Coordinator. I'm sure in 15 years he coached a lot of stuff!

i've got old press guides listing him as linebackers coach.....

i remember when he got there from rose-hulman....but i know that he coached both positions for the sycamores....

one of his fames of claim....was when he and dennis raetz started the "linebacker open" golf tournament each spring....participation was limited mostly to the outgoing seniors from the defensive side of the ball.....along with former players and members of the coaching staff.....
