Maybe someone at ISU should call and ask if they can get a similar arrangement. I'm sure if the numbers add up, it will happen. We shouldn't fault anyone at the Fieldhouse if they haven't been approached.

If we created a crazy atmosphere at the Hulman Center, that's all the publicity we'd need. A winning tradition will bring in top recruits. It doesn't hurt they have players with local ties, either. The Eitels, RJ, and the Jakes are only going to help attendance. Look at the women's team when they brought in Boeglin and Weddle. The attendance went up, and they started a winning tradition that has continued to this day.

Agree, agree -- Ideally K-Mac should have his PICK of Valley players!

We barely get 4,000 on a good nite at the Hulman Center....why would we want to play at Conseco? I understand the recruiting tool but I'm not sure how good of a tool it would be with 30,000 empty seats.

Conseco seats 18,000 for basketball. I feel strongly that ISU should be involved with the Wooden Tradition on a yearly basis. IUPUI has a crackerbox of a gym on campus that is not acceptable for Division I and plans to build an on campus has been talked about for years but never seems to get off of the ground. The rumors have it that the Simon family does not want another arena in town for fear of losing business from Conseco, so I suspect they are giving IUPUI a deal in exchange for not building. This is speculation on my part.

ISU and The Wooden Tradition

Get Martinsville High to open the day w/ a game at 1:00; have State play at 3:30 and Purdue can close at 8:00.

Thoughts?

Now that would be cool!

Let's make it happen!! Coach Wooden played at Martinville and Purdue; he coached at 2 HSs (the SBend school is closed and the other is in Kentucky, ergo it's not a legit school!)
He coaced college ball at State and UCLA; UCLA hosts the Wooden Classic...

So, let's FLOOD RP's box w/ requests for this to happen!

I think it would be a great idea, esp. for the Indy alumni...
