I think we won at Minn that year. One game, the two Johns had about 75 pts if I remember correctly.
That was a home game. Edwards had a great year.

After the home victory over Minnesota, the fan base was naturally excited. Coach Schellhase did his normal post-game discussion in the Varsity Club Room. I remember him saying something to the effect, "Look, there is no one in the MIssouri Valley nearly as bad as Minnesota, Northwestern or Wisconsin. They would be six wins every year."

He scored 35 pts against both Minnesota and Tulsa that season.
Media Guide lists him with 35 vs. illinois state as well... and he ended up at south illinois-edwardsville, right?

Johnny liked to shoot the rock...I can't remember why was he a "one and done" with the Sycamores...anyone? Didn't he have a bum knee?

Grades ate him (apparently)
Grades and I believe he had some off court issues too. Take this with a grain of salt because this is a memory from over 35 years ago, but I think he roughed up a Pizza City delivery guy and took his pizza.
he also finished his college career with stops at 2 Div I schools (east carolina, Ind State), an NAIA school (panhandle st u (ok)) and so illinois edwardsville -- helluva lot of traveling pre-transfer portal
