Ana Maira Charun-Valdez, a native of Lima, Peru, is a 5-10 Outside Hitter. During her two juco years at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, she was popularly referred to as Maira (not Maria) Charun. The Valdez name seems to have been added later.
