This is an excerpt of an email that I received from former Sycamore running back Derrick Franklin early Sunday morning after I informed him of Shakir Bell's record-setting performance against Youngstown State.....
"I heard that Shakir is pretty good. 256 yards in a game is really impressive. He beat it by 3 yards. I hope that he breaks all of my records. I never played a season over %65 healthy. sophomore year missed 8 games... (ankle). Junior year play 8 1/2 games with a torn meniscus (knee). Had surgery after that season. Senior year recovering from the knee then back and shoulder I still need a surgery to fix my shoulder. I just hope that he stays healthy."
