Ace fans were already hyped for an "AT-Large" because of their one shining moment .......... ha ha. Remember the Sycamores a couple of years ago in Archie's first game; Sycs finished 13-18 & 8-10 MVC. So much for one shining moment. They do have a couple of really good players in Williams & Riley but Williams can't stay in a game (fouls) any longer than Laravia. Sure they will be hard to handle when we play them though.
I've heard of this poll before, but I didn't realize it was an actual poll taken by head coaches of mid major programs. I find it odd that the Atlantic 10 and Mountain West aren't considered a mid major by this poll since they really are. The AAC not being included is understandable.
Gonzaga is basically the NDSU of mid major college basketball. If there was just a mid major tournament they would probably win it almost every year. However by this polls standards they would probably go to the MWC. One could also argue that they aren't really even a mid major anymore. If they weren't on the west coast there's little doubt in my mind they would be in the Big East. Sometimes I wish we had our own tournament with how fixed the actual tournament has become.
Thanks for posting this. I will probably start looking at this each Monday to see where the Valley teams are at. Evansville and Illinois State will probably drop out after their recent performances this past week.
