Wednesday afternoon's faceoff with Mizzou at Columbia, Missouri will be The Sycamores' appears to be the toughest test yet this pre-season. On the year, The Tigers are 12-6, but since March 1st are 10-2 (with all games being played at home). In their last 12 games, they have posted 108 runs...an average of nine runs per game. Offensively, they are batting .275. Defensively, their pitching staff has a 3.98 ERA

The last time ISU went to Missouri was in 2009 as a potent Mizzou offense and a lackluster Sycamore offense led to two Missouri victories by scores of 8-1 and 12-2. In 2009, Missouri appears to have been a better team, especially from the mound. Mizzou's peak year was 2007 when they had an overall record of 42-18. That number slid to a losing record in 2011--27-32.

Indiana State’s 16-4 start to this season is tied for the best in school history through 20 games – ISU also started 16-4 in 1979, 1987 and 1990, winning at least 40 games each season and making the NCAA Tournament in 1979 and 1987.

Right now, there is no audio broadcast listed for ISU for Wednesday's game. Mizzou has audio and video available for a fee:

There will be Twitter feeds and most likely live stats.

The weather is iffy, with isolated thundershowers possible Wednesday afternoon. The high should be in the mid-70's.

Really looking forward to this game. Really be nice to add another Big 12 school to our death toll. If we can win this game, this will really boost our confidence and morale. Let's go guys and get another huge win for our program. I bet we are really catching some recruits eye's with the season so far. Hope we can keep this going.

Mizzou will be a cake walk. They are pretty bad at everything they do in Como.

JLandrus: I was thinking about recruiting last night. Meggs got the ball rolling with rising results in 2008 and 2009. Heller continued in 2011. But, honestly, 2012 is the first recruiting class that is all his. The rise in the program which peaked in 2010 and appears to be rising to new heights this year IS catching the eye baseball at all levels. Add tothat the new on and off field facilities that Meggs got rolling and this program is looking good for the future.

But, we saw in 2010 a new parity in the MVC which appears to be even stronger in 2012. The MVC is going to catch the attention of NCAA Baseball this season. It looks to be a tough league, the likes of which we haven't seen before.

The coach at Missouri is Tim Jamieson, the youngest son of former ISU football coach.

Dick Jamieson. Tim spent a lot of time in Terre Haute when his dad coached the Sycamore gridders. In fact, Tim played catcher for the former Hulman Stars semipro baseball team for a couple of summers while he was in college.

Tim has done a great job with the Missouri program.

I'm really looking forward to the MVC portion of the schedule. I think the MVC part of our schedule will really show us where we are at. I can't wait to see us play Creighton, WSU, and Missouri State. Those are the teams we will have to contend with to win the MVC this seaosn, IMO.

Go Sycamores!!!:sycamores:

We actually showed in top 30 in 2010. We can get into the top 25 if we continue the dominance we're showing in pre-conference play!

A lot of eyes in MVC and in NCAA D-I are on our program!
