More MVC teams in the tourney

If this tournament isn't a strong indicator that they need more mid-majors, especially MVC teams, in the tournament, I don't know what is. Power conference schools are dropping left and right. You can have all the talent in the world, but if you run into teams that want it more and play hard from start to finish you're going to lose and lose bad. Something needs to change starting next year, but sadly, it probably won't.

I would like to more MVC teams in the tourney as well but the at-large field as a whole is weak this year. There is also not a great college team this season. Kansas was really good and one of the best in the country but not a great team like Carolina was last year or Florida a few years ago. As great as the NCAA tourney is to watch it is the biggest joke for a championship as there is in sports. I love the tourney but the best 65 don't get in. I would like to see the automatic bid start going to the team that won its conference regular season instead of the post season tourney.

I'm not sure of the numbers, but it was within the last decade (or so) when 11 mid-majors earned at large bids. Since then, it's just decreased each year. Last season I think 4 mids got at large bids.

It's almost comical the number of major conference teams that get at large bids...especially from the Big East.

Glad we won't have to worry about this next year since we're going to sweep the regular season MVC championship and then win the conference tourney.
