If I read this right,charging calls will cease to exist.All the offensive player has to do is jump in the air to avoid being called for a charge?

The D has to be in position BEFORE the O player starts his upward motion to draw a charge.

I wish there was a way to force the defensive players to play defense rather than trying to draw a charge. But there probably is not a good way to do that. A lot of times, if the D player is playing good D and the O player initiates the contact, it is a foul on D when it should be on O.

Exactly. Many fans will not understand the new rule. Heck, they can't even get the old rule right. Some of the TV commentators will be totally lost. The best we can do at this time is hope that at least 50% of the officials get it consistently right.
