this weekend marks the beginning of the end of the athletic calendar for ISU sports as the men's and women's teams head to Louisville for the Mideast Regional track meet. Twenty athletes from ISU will compete, with many having a very realistic shot at advancing to the NCAA championship meet. The meet is Friday and Saturday.

Jeanne Middleton 9th in the women's 100 trials, missing the finals by .02 seconds. So close. Men's 100 next
 
ISU's first NCAA qualifier is Sophomore Major Clay in the high jump, Clay was 5th place.

In the men's 100 Daryl Truitt was 19th in the men's 100, not advancing to the finals.
 
Sean Wright was 16th in the 400 meter heats, not making the finals, Freshman Brandon Pounds was 7th in the men's shot put, missing 5th place by 7 inches, he could possibly make the ncaa meet as an at-large selection. His throw was a new PR at over 59 feet (18.01 meters).
 
Indiana State has it's 2nd NCAA championship meet qualifier in women's pole vaulter Kylie Hutson, who was 2nd. Kylie was the indoor NCAA champion in March.

Erica Moore advanced to the finals of the 400 meter hurdles with the 2nd fastest time in the prelims (58.406), Kelsey Hanley was 15th in the women's hammer throw. Anthony Bertoli was 16th in the men's 400 meter hurdles

the ISU women are in 10th place, the men in 11th place currently. Not all day 1 events are over yet.
 
ISU junior Lauren Martin with a MONSTER triple jump at the regional meet today of 44' 4.75 inches to get 2nd place and advance to the ncaa championship meet. Erica Moore was 8th in the 400 meter hurdles, but still has a shot to advance in the women's heptathlon.

Erica Moore was selected to participate in the Heptathlon at this year's NCAA championship meet, congrats to Erica! That means 4 ISU athletes will be competing for NCAA titles in a couple weeks.
