Nevada (Nev-Reno) and Fresno State have announced their plans to move form the Mtn West to the WAC; hopefully as soon as 2011.

BYU is considering a return to the WAC in all sports, except football as they view themselves as the LDS-(Mormon) notre dame

Since their hated rival Utah is in another conference -- few should be surprised ( and they're still smarting from the Pac-12 snub...)

In a related move; utsa (tx - san antonio) is eyeing a jump to the WAC, hopefully as soon as 2014 --- they begin FCS football next season (2011) with former UMiami HC Larry Coker at the helm... utsa could become another usf... of course, they may never grow past the FLA Atlantic or FLA Int'l level

Have to believe the WAC, MWC, perhaps the C-USA and Sunbelt will all continue to churn through members

It's been a nightmare Summer for the WAC. I don't understand why BYU would want to go independent aka Notre Dame. They are better off staying in a conference for competition reasons, not many power teams will want to play late season NC games against the likes of BYU like they will for big name/big money ND.

to re-iterate: BYU considers themselves as the LDS-(Mormon) notre dame

ie a school with a national draw

The WAC is also looking at texas state-san marcos; tsu-sm has to be interested, if for no other reason than to remain competitive for $$$, students in the greater sa tx area --- utsa is chasing the wac like a dog after a pork chop

from the WAC's perspective -- adding those two brings an instant rivalry
