I am here at the Indianapolis Colts complex all ready for Day 2 of the 2009 NFL Draft. If anybody wants to talk, hit me up. lol

Chicago Bears finally make a pick in the NFL Draft

The Chicago Bears have finally made a pick, taking San Jose State DT Jarron Gilbert with the 68th overall pick and the fourth of the third round. The selection had previously belonged to Seattle.
 
Western illinois linebacker taken by Dallas in the third round....

Jason Williams, a linebacker from Western Illinois, has been selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the fifth pick of the third round, 69th pick overall. He is the first Missouri Valley Conference player taken.
 
Purdue defensive tackle goes to Kansas City....

Two picks earlier, the 67th overall and third of the third round, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Purdue defensive tackle Alex Magee. He is the first Indiana college player selected in the 2009 NFL Draft.
 
First Ball State player taken...and it wasn't QB Nate Davis...lol....

Ball State offensive tackle Robert Brewster went to the Dallas Cowboys with the 75th overall pick and 12th of the third round. The pick originally belonged to the Buffalo Bills.
 
Colts third round pick....Auburn CB Jerraud Powers....

The Colts have made their third round pick, taking Auburn CB Jerraud Powers with the 28th selection of the third round and 92nd overall pick.

the first indiana born kid has been selected....

as the kansas city chiefs has taken former franklin central CB donald washington...he played at ohio state......
 
linebackers??? what linebackers...lol

good question....we'll see what happens as the draft continues....they have gotten some quality picks in the later rounds in recent years.....
 
I am a fan of the game changing mean ugly nasty linebackers alas Ray Lewis ,Dick Butkus , Hollywood henderson ( before the cocain problem) ,Jack lambert etc... better stop the list there starting to show my age if i go much further
 
Colts add wide receiver with the first of two picks in the fourth round....

The Colts have made the first of two picks in the fourth round, selecting BYU WR Austin Collie with the 27th pick of the round (the 127th of the draft). Indianapolis also has a compensatory pick (36/136 overall).

Collie had 105 catches in 2008 with a nation-best 1,538 yards....and 15 TD receiving.....

Looks LIke he might be able to fill in the missing return position that the colts have not had in a while along with filling in at the slot if necessary . Still no linebackers.........
 
Colts add defensive tackle with second pick in the fourth round....

Indianapolis has made its second pick of the fourth round, adding Michigan DT Terrance Taylor with the 36th selection of the round and 136th overall in the draft.

As for Collie, looks like he will be a slot receiver...with Gonzalez staying outside with Reggie Wayne......a Brandon Stokley clone......
 
Ball State QB Nate Davis finally gets drafted...in the fifth round....

Ball State QB Nate Davis was finally selected, going to the San Francisco 49ers wth the
35th pick of the fifth round.
 
Colts take Purdue QB Curtis Painter is the sixth round....

still no linebackers taken....maybe in free agency...same with a punter.....lol.....
 
Colts get extra pick from Eagles, select punter and offensive guard in 7th round

The Colts closed out the draft Sunday by obtaining an extra seventh-round draft choice in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles (Indianapolis sending its sixth-round pick in 2010 to Philly).

With the extra pick, the Colts selected West Virginia P Pat McAfee. He was a finalist for the Ray Guy Award as the nation's best collegiate punter. Indianapolis also drafted Maryland offensive guard Jaimie Thomas (6-4, 331) with its own seventh round pick.

Undrafted collegiate free agents to be announced soon.

NDSU Safety Nick Schommer was just drafted by the TN Titans, Nick is a class act of a kid, great to see him get the chance!!
