Obviously you are the father of Devonte Brown and to say that some of your comments seemed a bit "confused" today and were a bit difficult to decipher-- would most likely be an understatement. As has been discussed on here MANY times, being the parent of an ISU player on this forum can be great for both parties, for you as a parent to discuss your son, and for this forum to understand the trials and tribulations of being a D1 player. Certainly after a dozen or so contributions, it is difficult to get a feel for you and your opinions. The first comment I read today from you was "I think he's a waste of scholarship.." referring to a player that left our team 2 seasons ago. To be honest, then most of this forum start thinking you are another flake that is just popping on to stir up the pot. Nothing more. At the very least, a few of your comments seemed misinformed. The reason I am saying all this, is that, I say the forum and you got off to a bad start. I have no idea why you would make a negative comment about a well-liked player from a couple of years ago but frankly it is not relevant anymore. As a parent of a player, we try and show as much as respect as is humanly possible but obviously, the end result isn't always so positive in the case of R.J.'s dad in the past few months.

Bottom line, inform us with facts and insight and we will get along just fine. Throw stuff out there that makes no sense or no basis of truth or fact, and it will be a rough road. There are MANY members of Sycamore Pride that are looking forward to see just where Devonte can take his talent. If he works hard and keeps his nose clean, his upside is all good. The only other advise I might throw out there, is that you will need to be thick-skinned from time to time. Personally, I look forward to hearing more from you. This team has a lot to prove to us and to themselves. Welcome aboard. I hope you see what I am trying to say here. 5-6 years ago I got off to a rocky start on here. Bottom line, welcome to the Sycamore Pride family.
