The Sycamore Level
Im pretty sure the boys were back in the weight room today. I believe this should be a great off season for us. Getting Bigger, Stronger, Faster and Football smarter. Most importantly getting healthy...I saw Jacolby Washington about 20 min ago and talked to him about the game Sat. I couldnt believe he played! His foot has to be extremly swollen.

I do have a question for you guys...if you know that cool, but if not Ill find out pretty soon. I was about to play for the team at the begining the year as a walk-on, I was invited to camp and everything, but the NCAA suspeneded me for my SAT scores, so I wasnt able to play this year but I have been training hard and kept in football shape. I need 24 hours of credit to be able to play again so I wont have that till after Spring ball. Jacolbly asked me if I was going to summer workouts.....I dont know if walk-ons can attend Summer Workouts or if I have to wait till Summer Camp next year. If anybody know it would be helpful, but if not I'll be talking with Coach Minter soon.

Thanks

hey showtime....

I don't think that you can take part in the summer workouts until you are fully qualified to play on the team. You can do stuff on your own, follow the same workout plan, etc. But you won't be able to work out the team. At least that's what the rules used to be. Maybe they've changed since I worked at ISU.

Thats what I was thinking, and Im fine with working out with myself since I have been doin it for about a year now haha, but thanks for the info.

Seems that ISU has to facilities and guidance to get the job done in the off season. Looking forward to some big changes physcially next year.

I was walking on to be an Outside Linebacker/Safety...one of those tweener guys, and my goal for the upcoming season was to become a starter on Kickoff or Kick Return...and Cat, I hope I do get a chance to play against those guys in the conference, nothing like knowing that ur going up against the top 1% in the nation...its what I live for

O yeah I here yeah...I have a Learning Disibility and its hard to take test like the SAT's, my high school grades are good, but its hard to take tests...Now the first semester here is almost up and right now I got a 3.3 GPA, my goal is to carry a 3.0 all through college, cause I know football wont last me forever...I'm doin everything I can to reach my dream

Sounds like you have your act together! I wish you the best both in the classroom and on the gridiron.

Congrats, Showtime and good luck!!! but you raised a question that I have had for a while, If your a walk on or a preferred walk on and you played limited time in a season can you transfer with out sitting out a year, I was always curious if the sit out a year rule and transfer only applied to schorship players or everyone

I'm not sure but would the transfer be taking a scholarship at the next school? If so, I'm guessing they'd still have to sit out a year, otherwise you could have more guys trying out for better teams on bad programs. That's kind of what Junior Colleges are for.
