Sycamore Proud
The Nicks Level
I just posted this on Facebook and decided I want to share it with all of you. Yeah, a great Thanksgiving!
This is a very special Thanksgiving for me. Dr. Whipple did a short procedure on my left eye on Nov. 14. We didn't know how much, if any, it would help my vision. But when he suggested it, I said go for it I can't lose much. The next morning I sat around a table with friends. I asked the lady on my right if her pop can said "vanilla zero". She replied yes, why? It hit us about the same time. I had read the lettering from about 18 inches away. Sure they were large letters. I hadn't been able to do that for a couple of years. It was a very emotional moment. Yesterday evening I went with friends Bob Lybarger and Gus Martin to the ISU game in Terre Haute, just like we have done for several years.. Our seats are about 20 feet from the home bench side of the baseline. I could seen 2 or 3 "blobs" of white and dark at the far end of the floor. On our end I could see all 5 white and dark "blobs". No, I couldn't see names, numbers or the ball but who cares? I hadn't been able to see a game this well for at least 2 years. Thank you God! Thank you Dr. Whipple. THANK YOU! THANK ;YOU! THANK YOU! For my family and friends reading this, take care of your eyes and ears! Don't ever take them for granted.
