Bally #50
The JSW Level
Normally during a normal hoops season, I am usually able to see 60% of the home games and that number probably climbs to 80% in the early season. To this point, I have only been able to attend ONE game, the BSU home opener, and my frustration is rapidly growing. I realize that I have had two surgeries in the span of a few months, and I was forced to skip two games because I wasn't well enough to attend, but EVERY game other than those two, I have sought friends to drive down with me (or a few in TH--to meet me) and to NO AVAIL.
I have determined that when you reach 60+, not EVERYONE has the time or the desire to take 5 hours out of their lives to come to Terradise and enjoy a game. Since most of my friends are married, that is obviously a negative thing when it comes to a "boys night out." Ten years ago, many of my married friends would go out of their way to go but as they mature (and stay married), they can't live without their other halves. And even though I can usually get someone home in Indy by midnight after a 7pm game, that is now TOO LATE to get home, even if they don't have to get up early the next day. Because of the social nature of MOST of my college friends, you'd think a chance to have a few beers, eat a Bally pizza and see old friends, you'd think they'd jump on the opportunity to see a game, but nope, they might say that they are getting over a COLD and probably should make sure to not try to give it to someone else. Enough of the excuses. I have made a SERIOUS effort to go to three games but have come up with nothing. I realize that I can't walk 100 feet without seeing someone I know in Hulman Center but I have NEVER liked to attend any event alone because the "bonding" is what makes it fun.
Tonight, obviously, I will be sitting at home and tracking the game on the computer. Not too sure why once again, I am 0-4 for finding someone to attend tonight. My frustration continues. :-(
Having said that....Go TREES.
