So what do you all think about the trade with the 76ers? Granger, the old face of the Pacers out to bring in Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen. I for one did not see that coming.

I love the trade! Turner is a complete player and another defensive guy that is less injury prone.

I'm kind of lukewarm about the trade, but I believe it is an upgrade. For the record, though, Turner is an awful defender. Pacers are sacrificing what Granger brought on the defensive end (although that was starting to become more and more limited based on his knees) with what we're gaining with Turner offensively. Turner can handle the ball very well and has a good midrange game. He can't hit a three to save his life and is a liability on the defensive end.

As some in the media pointed out, it's a great move because it extends Granger's value. If we didn't trade him by the deadline, we officially were going to get nothing for him. By bringing in Turner we replace his scoring, we have a younger talent who can be brought back or signed and traded, we have a backup option if they can't re-sign Stephenson. As for his defense, that can be taught and improved on a defensive minded team. He didn't have much motivation play defense for the awful run and gun Sixers. In terms of value, there were too many questions around Granger's health and future. Sixers might release him.

I was reading some of what Coach Vogel was saying about Turner and I guess in practice, offensively Stephenson and Turner were really hitting on offense and creating shots for eachother. Also said that Turner and Stephenson should be on the floor together a lot. I think it is a heck of an upgrade because he is young and very teachable. Plus he was already friends with PG. Also he was comfortable with game winning shots saying that he had like 3 or 4 this season. Just might rub some fans wrong because Granger was one heck of a player for the Pacers. Keyword "was". With his knees he would eventually be a liability.

Granger is a great guy, but his window closed pretty fast. He could be a solid contributor for the Clippers or Spurs now as those are the teams rumored to be interested in picking him up. My only disappointment with the trade is that we didn't find a way to swing it for a quality PG. Hill is OK, but not a true PG. He's most effective coming off the bench.

I like hill actually. He handles the ball pretty well. I could see us losing Watson after this year and going after a PG in the offseason
