Sycamore Proud
The Nicks Level
From the Creighton board:
This game is a great opportunity for the Jays, also. Even more so since last nights results. Go out and clear-cut some Sycamores!
This game should scare us. It's an absolute MUST-WIN for Indiana State. Their NCAA tournament hopes, in my opinion, hinge on winning this game. Their OOC resume is very strong, but they have too many losses, and another might seal their NIT fate.
From Creighton's perspective, I think it's also very important. To justify the high national ranking, and to put the team in position for a #4 or #5 seed, the Jays simply can't have another loss to one of the better teams on the schedule. If the Jays can go into Terra Haute, and beat a desperate, hungry team, I'll feel much better about a chance to do something special in March, as opposed to another squeaker first round win (hopefully) and an unceremonious second round
Doug's definitely got game face!
ISUB is playing some good D - let's hope for a good play out of the timeout.
is there a reason we should not pound the post against this team? they don't have a single guy that can guard Doug or GE down low.
Don't like the way this is looking at all.
wow...looks like we don't want to be there.
Easily could have be down 22 instead of 11. Need to make some major adjustments at half time. How do they stop Odom!
Sad effort against the team that is going to battle you for first.
n addition to our lost offense, I have no idea what happened to our defensive rebounding. Our effort is pretty weak and we aren't boxing out. Doug has gone from one of the best rebounders in the league to pretty lackadaisical. Gregory used to own the boards, but is playing pretty passive. Our guards can't seem to corral any lose balls or long rebounds either.
Game over...this team has issues that need to be fixed on the road...they aren't good enough to get out hustled like this....sad night. It is unfortunate, but I am not surprised one bit.
We're lazy.
Oh yeah, we don't want to cover three point shooters either.
And really, really stupid use of personnel by Coach. Just once, ONCE, can we PLEASE see 3-00-34 at the same time????
I may be a little glass half empty, but I don't think this team wins a road game the rest of the year. We are staring at a 23-8 record going into the valley tourney. Meaning, win the tourney or it's NIT.
Gibbs barely touched Arop on that foul. Can't believe they called it a flagrant

The offense has been sub-par much of the year. With the defensive improvement and almost the exact same personnel, there's no excuse for the Jays losing as many games as they have.
If the Jays don't remember how to play offense, I'm not sure they even make it to Sunday in St. Louis.
I'm going to knock back a beer every time a coach says on either of tonight's postgame shows, "Well, this is entirely our fault. We didn't have our guys prepared". I expect to be hammered way before the 10:00 news. And, while it's true enough, I'm a little weary of hearing it, like it excuses these occasional, inexplicable meltdowns. If you're a coach and you find yourself saying that after each loss, either you don't mean it, or you;re not learning very much about preparation.
Let the starters sit and let the huge loss sink in .........
Before people completely lose their minds over this game and start thinking that we won't win another game from here on out, I just want to say that Wichita whipped us on February 11th last season and we didn't lose the rest of the season until the Carolina game.
A team with a "never say die" attitude. We refuse to lose by 20. Brings a tear to the eye.
Unfortunately, this is a soft team. A soft program. I'm sure I'm going to get ripped to shreds for saying that but it's true. They live and die on the perimeter. Even GE...occasionally you'll see a play like that dunk on Zeller last year but usually it's 2 dribbles then panic in looking for someone to pass to. And more often than not...when they are figuratively punched in the mouth they don't respond in kind.
