Records by conference in the 2018 FCS playoffs:

Missouri Valley: 5-1
Big Sky: 5-3
CAA: 3-5
Ohio Valley: 2-2
Patriot: 1-1
Big South: 1-1
Northeast: 1-1
Southern: 1-2
Southland: 1-3
Pioneer: 0-1

I put this here instead of the football forum because, well you know just because. Isn't it nice to see the CAA live up to the FCS selection sommittee's expectations by scoring 3 wins from 6 participants. Obviously the CAA's supremacist in numbers of good wins and strength of schedule validated the committee's decision.

The MVFC will also be in the national championship game for the 8th straight year (starting to lose count). Hopefully the Bunnies are the ones representing us. If NDSU wins I will be rooting for the EWU/Maine winner in the title game. The whole NDSU thing is just old. I don't mind seeing a team win it a couple of years in a row, but 7 out of 8 is ridiculous and I think it's bad for FCS football. I don't even care that Maine is from the CAA honestly, just as long as someone beats NDSU. I know their coach stuck up for us, but still......

Gee...thanks

I'll root for the conference regardless. SDSU is gonna have a helluva time beating NDSU but we will see.

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking about rooting for NDSU in the championship game. I'm going to assume that SDSU won't beat you guys, but maybe the Klieman distraction is what it will take.

Regardless, the MVC is stupid for not inviting NDSU and SDSU for all sports.

Will you be footing the bill for the additional travel costs?

NDSU is roughly 230 miles farther than Wichita was. SDSU is roughly 160 miles farther. So the travel is a little more than it was back when Creighton and Wichita were still in the league, but not much more. Back in the day we used to travel to places like Tulsa, New Mexico State, West Texas State, etc, so I'm not sure the additional travel is really that big of an issue.

Tulsa was the same distance as Wichita; at least according to old MVC media guides; Creighton was slightly (40 miles) less; with Creighton and Wichita out of the conference; our average road trip went from 249 miles from 340.

Adding the Dakota schools in ALL sports would send us to the great Northern tundra 4 times; the shortest trip is 675 miles (Vermillion). Do we REALLY have the resources to spend on 4 trips of 1,350+ miles?

If the Valley went to divisions, create em...
