I probably don't want to know how our budget ranks compared to other Valley teams but do wonder how we compare with the Horizon League & Butler in particular?

In a Horizon League report obtained by the Green Bay Press-Gazette, Butler ranked third in the league in 2008-09 with a $59,644 basketball recruiting budget. Detroit was first at $80,899 and Wisconsin-Milwaukee second at $70,000.

By contrast, the Kentucky athletic board recently approved a $575,000 recruiting budget. :censored:

Interesting question--I would also like to compare the Valley to the Horizon League from top to bottom and let's throw in the Ohio Valley as well.

According to the NCAA, we spent $65,466 on recruiting in the 2004-05 school year, as shown on the database on the Indy Star's website. In the same year, Illinois State spent $67,987, UNI spent $38,595, Missouri State spent $72,381, and Wichita State spent $91,742.

WOW!!! I would figure that the success that Creighton has had, that they would have spent more than us on recruiting.

I would venture a guess and say that CU nearly doubles ISU's recruiting budget...I'm not sure why you brought up CU though as it's not mentioned above.

Kentucky paying players.....................................nah surely not. Probably those "one & done's" need lots of pampering?
