I've been kinda surprised reading about some small crowds in college basketball around the midwest (Evansville's only getting abut 4000 with a good team and new arena ? ? ?). And I'm still stunned that Butler only draws 7000 -- 9000 in Indianapolis given what they've done the past couple of years. So maybe in reality our crowds in the 5000 + range have not been bad.

Still hoping for a really big crowd on Jan. 15 for the Wichita State game -- hope ISU promotes it well and we have 8000 + in Hulman Center ! I do plan to be at that one.

But what about this Saturday's game vs MSU -- big game (given what's happened in the last week or so) against a good team. Will get some national attention on ESPN3. Are the students coming back this weekend -- do classes start Monday ? If yes maybe some will come back early.

Cannot make the game myself, but hope to see 6500 + there. Maybe I can catch it on SycVision if its working ...................hummmmmmmmmm

Classes do start Monday. The 1:00 start time will hurt student attendance some because most will probably be coming back sometime Saturday. An evening game would have been more conducive to a good student turn out on Saturday. I'm sure there's not much advertisement around campus anyway for those who do return early.

To your point regarding attendance overall, I tend to agree. Our 5,000 average is pretty good to this point. I'd like to see a bump once we get deeper into the conference. Side note regarding Butler attendance, they had a few games this year where they drew upper 5,000, very close to what we've drawn.

Obviously, we need to win these two home games coming up or casual fans will stop coming, especially with so many home games being televised and IU doing so well.

Classes start Monday. I imagine some students may be back but I doubt we'll see too many students. Hoping for a good turnout though and I know I'll be there.

From the numbers I have seen, Butler would be elated to draw 9K. They have had some crowds in the 5K range. They have also alienated many long time season ticket holders by demanding $$ "donations" to keep the same seats in the future. I have read the the "donations" go up to $2,500 per seat.

I made it to the game last week, happened to be in town for the holidays, and was impressed with the crowd. Of course I've also been impressed with some of the homecoming crowds that others think are too small and was cautioning people not to get their hopes up for 10,000 against NDSU. It doesn't mean I think TH is incapable of that, I just think our crowds are pretty good for this day and age and given where our programs have been until recently.

I'll be at the game tomorrow. I'm not heading back to Vincennes until Sunday afternoon. Hope to see a good crowd at Hulman Center tomorrow.
