Saturday Game Moved To 7:00 p.m. Eastern To Avoid Rain--NO Radio Coverage--DH Sunday?

Because of impending rain, Saturday's game has been pushed back to 7:00 p.m. Eastern time.

The SLU Basketball team's game will be heard instead of baseball. Boo!

As of 10:00 a.m. (EST), Hammond, LA had received about a half inch of rain overnight with a forecast of up to two inches today, with most of that dropping this afternoon. While the steady rains will likely end before the 7:00 p.m. (EST) game time, there remains a possibility of thunderstorms during the game.

So...the prospects of playing this evening's game are looking bleak. The weather Sunday is looking great with a doubleheader possible depending on field conditions.

We'll see how it plays out and get the official word from Hammond later today.

As of 2:30 (ET), Hammond, LA has received about 1.5 inches of rain with another half-inch to one-inch expected before it let's up around 7:00 (ET).

The forecast models show the rain likely to at least delay the start of the game OR postpone/cancel it due to set grounds.

The forecast for Sunday shows sunny skies and light winds...with a temperature of 65 at the 2:00 (ET) game time. So, if travel schedules permit, it would be a good day for a double-header.

We'll have to wait for the final decision from the clubs as the afternoon progresses.
