Saturday's Game--ISU vs SIU-E Cancelled--Off 'Till Thursday

As of 3:15 p.m. (ET) Saturday, the word is that today's games have been cancelled. There will be an 11:00 a.m. (CT) doubleheader between EIU & SIUE...so ISU WILL NOT play this weekend. Their next game is Thursday night against Bradley at Peoria, Illinois.

As of 12:00 Noon (CT): The forecast is calling for most of the rain activity to occur between now and 2:00 (CT) with lighter scattered showers for our game's time frame from 3:30 (CT) to 6:30. The concern then would be over the field conditions being postentially sloppy.

Just announced (at 11:50) that a rain delay is keeping game one between EIU and SIUE from its Noon start. They have covered the mound and home plate areas...so the infield lies naked.

They are hoping to start the first game at 12:45.

As of 12:05 (CT), there is now an extended rain delay. The main tarp has covered the infield. No set start time for the EIU-SIEU game. Radar showing beaks in rain action coming before 1:00 p.m. (CT).

The radar at 1:10 (CT) is showing the stream of moisture, mostly light, extending southwestward past St. Louis.

The game must be cancelled. I saw the busses and team at Bob Warn Field, unless they were getting ready to leave for Charleston.

Due to rain this afternoon in Charleston, Ill., the game between Indiana State and SIU Edwardsville has been postponed. The inclement weather has not allowed for the game preceding ISU's to begin either, where Eastern Illinois and SIUE were scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. ET. As of 2:30 p.m. ET all three teams are waiting for the weather to clear before beginning the doubleheader. As a sidenote, the Sunday doubleheader between SIU-E and EIU has been cancelled because of rain.

So the two-day three-team gathering is officially a wash!
