And when the cheerleaders are running across the court with the big ISU flag, a couple cheerleaders could be towing the tree in a wheelbarrow.

We should do something like this. At Missouri Rolla, the student organizations compete in a annual competition (not suggesting that). But what you do is find a sycamore tree, you "burn" it out (hollow it by burning it by using charcoal) and you dig it up keeping the roots (as much as possible) attached. Then, you let it dry out for about 6 months or so. Then, you carve, paint, etc. and then lacquer the HELL out of it as can seen in the video. These things are AMAZING! And this could be a very easy way for the athletic dept to raise some funds...they could auction/sell the new cudgle each year or each season (if they made a new one). The point is that they are portable, they are really cool and I promise you if you saw one of these things in person you would be in awe! They are works of art and are just downright amazing! But this is way that we could have a "sycamore tree" at anything and everything without actually having to have a "live" tree. Plus it would be a fundraiser...best of both worlds. I know this much, my fraternity chapter at Missouri Rolla raises approx. 8K-10K per year by selling it and some years even more. I have seent them sell cudgles for as much as $50K when it was a really popular design (Star Wars one sold for alot to a collector).

How about a vicious, blood thirsty, blue fox instead!!!!!

Now that'll get people's attendition!!!! Sycamore Sam can be the trainer!!!

ofc

I think we should just go with a squirrel. It makes sense and I can't think of anyone else with a squirrel mascot. A Sycamore tree isn't realistic. You'd have to use a sapling. Sycamores are huge trees! Also, there are Sycamores outside Memorial Stadium that can be easily seen from the stands. There is one just outside the fence of the east endzone that is still rather small.
