Yes I found it after I looked for it on Youtube. Interesting use of Sam, kind of odd to me, but I don't have a problem with it or anything just a little odd. More of an "why would the mascot of ISU be a kindergartener?" kind of thing.

instructional video for pre-school kids ... I don't see a problem with that at all.

Kids love Sam. I'll bet that some of those kids will convince mom and dad that they need to get to a game to see Sam. The Trees play well and the family comes back. Seems like a win-win. I know, rose colored glasses...
But we can hope can't we?

Seems pretty typical use of MANY college and professional sports mascots; at least in the last 15 years or so.

Granted not all of them (uses) end up on YouTube...

I am not upset with anyone here...but all I was saying was it was a little odd...I have no problem with it at all...just a little odd. I have never seen any college mascot ever, used in this particular way. Appearances in a classroom, sure. Attending an event for an elementary school sure. Never have I seen it done like this where the mascot is actually "in" the class. Maybe on Funny or Die or Saturday Night Live but not in this particular fashion. That is all I was saying. Sure kids love Sam...I was Sam, I know! My kids love Sam, I know.

But when I showed my 7 year old this same video she asked, "why is Sam in Kindergarten I thought he went to college?" I rest my case...

Will Sam be available for a book signing at homecoming? It is odd, but amusing and not a bad thing. I can see wanting to appeal to kids. We'd all like to think mascots are about more than that, but not really.
