Drove up to Valpo yesterday to go watch the game as it was my last chance this season to see us play. Very happy that we at least won the game that I was able to go to. Dane Geisler started it off right and I was glad that I got to witness him hit another HR. Polley did a really good job yesterday as usual and thankfully our relievers did a good job for the most part too. I think we got lucky that Valpo didn't pull their starter before they did. He showed signs of getting tired in the previous inning (before we scored 5), but they let him come back out. I'm glad Mitch Hannahs pulled Polley when he started to show signs of getting tired.
Valpo's stadium (seating) is very small, parking was easy, and it actually didn't cost anything to get into the game. A popcorn was only a dollar. Their fan support is definitely lacking, but the fans they did have were easy to get along with. I'm definitely happy they replaced Wichita State. Funny thing is that this was the first time in my life that I've ever been to Valparaiso, Indiana. Fun experience though. Maybe I'll get to go up there next year when we play them in basketball. Definitely not a bad drive.
Hopefully we can get another W today. Go Sycamores!
