They're going to be pretty darn good again. Especially when they get the South guys back. Provided Reed doesn't turn pro.

They may not hit as well as last year, but I think theyre pitching is better.

This team was missing the West Vigo kids due to their banquet tonight and the South kids because they are still in the state tournament. They brought up some junior Post 346 players and they played pretty well. They hit the ball solid and the pitching was good, except for some big hits from Danville.

Is there a link to a complete roster?

Reed, Maxwell, Wheatfill, Marlow, Tafoute from South. Sexton, Nacke and Patterson from North. Kent, West, and Thornton from West Vigo. Niehaus, Lunsford, Mason, Mershon, and Girton from Northview.

They should have a nice little pitching staff. Reed, Nacke, Girton(who has interest from ISU), West, and Kent will be your "big" game/tournament pitchers. Maxwell will close I'd imagine. Marlow, Patterson, Sexton, and Mershon throw during the week.

They didn't have any rosters at the game because half the team is not playing yet. Post 346 used to have players from Riverton Parke and South Vermillion but that St. Bernice formed and most of them play there now.

I agree with all but I dont think Girton is Big Game yet will he be yes in time but he is still only a JR and this team is packed with pitching. I look for all of them to settle in their roles as the season progresses and could honestly see West doing much like Tyler Wampler did last year and become a position player only . Sexton might pitch only because there is three catchers on this team but he is not really the go to guy on the mound so yes it will be mid week only fo rhim and help out of the bullpen if at all. Patterson and Marlow throw so slow that it really mixes up batter who have faced the faster throwing pitchers so they could see some back end of a double header work but not likely . All in all they are muvh stronger Pitching this year and it may take some time for the roles in the lineup to be set but it has potential . I look for good things from this team .

I kind of thought the same thing about Girton until I saw him no hit West Vigo for 6 innings and strike out 13 against South in the sectional. Don't forget he also pitched an elimination game for 346 last year and won it.

I really think West will pitch and pitch a lot. Wampler had a sore arm which limited him last year. Sexton is a mid week guy but Marlowe threw real well in the regional against a good hitting Harrison team.

Terre Haute hosted Vincennes tonight and scored an 11-9 victory. The winning pitcher for Post 346 was Zack Kent who pitched 5 innings and gave up 4 runs. Dalton Sexton pitched the last 4 innings and gave up the remaining 5 runs. The hitting is there right now but the pitching needs to improve if they are gonna make a run in the state tournament.

Post 346 hosted Anderson this afternoon, winning both games 5-4 and 8-6. The winning pitchers were Scott West and John Robert Patterson. Jimmy Maxwell started the second game but gave up 5 runs and was taken out of the game, and Terre Haute rallied from a 5-1 deficit to win the game. Post 346 trailed 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th of game 1, but a base hit by Zack Kent, a walk to Reed, and a double to left field by Niehaus plated Kent and Reed to win the game.

I forgot to mention, AJ Reed also hit a 3-run homer in the second game in the 6th inning. It went all the way across th highway behind the baseball field.

Landrus how many of the 5 runs Jimmy gave up were earned > I know the answer I just want to see how you score it since you felt the need to put he gave up so many runs

All the way across what highway? I thought post 346 played home games at Terre Haute North? The road behind right field is fruitridge ave and is WAAAAAY behind the fence. That must have been a 500 plus ft. homerun!

I would say 1 was earned because he gave up a base hit and that guy eventually scored. Most of his baserunners were due to walks and they advanced due to passed balls. He did fairly well except for that 2nd inning when he gave up those 5 runs. If he would have cut down on the walks he would have been just fine.

It was a blast, you could see the ball bounce on the road. The right field fence is 328 and its about another 70-80 feet until the road, and that ball was crushed. As soon as he hit you knew it was gone, the RF'er just stood there and watched it sail over his head.

You are veryyyy defensive of South and especially Jimmy in many of your comments. Relax, already he said was Jimmy gave up five runs. He didn't say five earned runs, you tell me did you, me, Coach Hayes, or Jimmy allow the five runs. Earned or unearned, Jimmy was on the mound and let up the five runs. At the game yesterday, A. J. allowed zero earned runs and one unearned run, he still got the loss because HE gave up the run. So damn biased!

I am defensive of anyone who has never played a game and wants to criticize any single player which he seems to do all the time . I never saw where he said the West Terre Haute kid allowed such and such runs in the first game or that a West Terre Haute player committed x amount of errors allowing these runs to score. . You have a problem with Anything South but let me tell you this team is about the Kids who play for Post 346 not the school they played for . And Landrus for the record just because he allows the kid on base from a walk or hit does not make it a automatic earned run when there are circumstances that cause the runner to score e.g. Shortstop boots the ball , catcher allows past ball, etc. learn to keep score .
