Since it's Blizzard 2011, I feel like they deserve a big thanks.....1,000 students turned out.....sounds pretty great to me!

Keep it up for the rest of the season, the team needs you!

Very good effort by the students. Sure most of them live close, but that couldn't have been a very fun walk back to their dorms and apartments.

Its too bad that we had such a great turnout with students and then we get run out of the gym by WSU....don't expect much student attendance for the rest of the year

I disagree (and I hope I'm right) because I think our students remember how exciting we've played at home and, like many of us, still believe that we could put together another winning streak of 4 games or so and have a new sense of confidence and fun.

More than just a few felt they would abandon us after the loss to Evansville and you know what....? They surprised us by showing up again. My feeling is that they have discovered that coming to games and "bonding" with their fellow students was kind of fun. We'll see but I think the days of 20-30 students are done with and hopefully the trend is only upward. Remember some of the upcoming games are winable which makes them much more fun.

Before we all go crazy about those Evansille losses, please note that the have won FOUR in a row. Quite possibly, they are better than most of us thought!

I don't believe that will happen. They realize they are supporting a good team in tough games. Possibly more important, students now realize that going to basketball games is more fun than staying in the dorm and studying, watching TV, sleeping or doing whatever they were doing. It's an important part of the college experience that they have discovered. Student's will be back; and may very well be back in larger numbers that before.

Sure hope I'm right.
