Wish the men could get some of these games the ladies get. I'm anxious to see how they match up.

The women are always able to schedule solid games against the Big 12 and Big 10. I think since the program has had some success in the past and since State is annualy among the top 40 or 50 in home attendence it helps to get these conferences to travel to the HC. Hopefuly there is a good turnout tonite!

Junior Brittany Schoen tied a career-high with 20 points while sophmore Taylor Whitley added 14 points and nine assists.

disappointing..should have won this game!

I was at the game and I'd call it anything but disappointing.
Michigan is a very good team. They have a team FULL of ball handlers. We held them under their average in 3pt pct (avg 44%, they shot around 30% I believe). We were out-girled (size wise)... but we didn't give anything up.

Proud of how the girls gritted this out...
If they play like that EVERY GAME, they will win quite a few MVC games.

I agree. The most notable difference was in the middle where Michigan was quite a bit stronger than us. I was surprised that they did not go in to the post more because we could not stop their center once she posted up. We played quite a few young players and they held their own, the future looks very promising.

According to their coach, they are young in the post.. and that is one of the things that they need to work on, is getting their post to be more physical and to think SCORE from 3-4 feet away.

In relation to the Big Ten yes for it is a more physical league. They pounded it inside in the first half but went away from it in the second half, for the most part but when they did go inside we could not stop them from going to the basketball. They had a definite advantage in strength not height in the middle, just my opinion.

Agree. I was just saying that it is something they are working on as a team this year... and it explains why they went away from it a little.. Unfortunately, it also shows us how much work we still have to do inside.
