The Odum Level
Want to watch an entertaining football game? Turn on the Grey Cup. On right now on ESPN2. They're playing in a heavy snow storm, already several hard hits. And Calgary just scored first by going for it on 3rd and 2. And best part, you don't have to care if they did or didn't stand for the anthem.

And Jameer Thurman just had a nice hit for Calgary.

Thurman now with a sack. Has been dominant in this game. If Calgary wins, he could very well be in consideration for player of the game. Announcers have already referenced Indiana State at least four times.

Glad somebody beat me to it. I've been an Argos fan for about 40 years, so I'm sitting on pins and needles. Thurman definitely has an inside track on the MOP. He needs a couple of big plays and Calgary needs to keep Ricky Ray from putting any more points on the board.

Without question, this is the most entertaining game I've watched all Thanksgiving weekend.

Was that Mike Sanford calling the offensive plays for Calgary at the end there?? LOL

The same Mike Sanford that actually won games, got us to the playoffs, beat playoff teams, and was a few unlucky plays from being in the playoff discussion again last year? That Mike Sanford?

Well let’s just hijack this thread. I never got the bare cupboard accusation this year...at least to the extent that we got boat raced in the MVC every Saturday—even by the bottom of the conference. We returned Pugh, Booker, McClendon and others on offense and upperclassman on Defense (Moss and Griffith for example) that saw action the year before. I will concede I think I saw a lot of underclassman lineman but we returned a lot of talent from a team that was close to being a playoff contender the year before.

We returned a fair amount of talent. Was it 17 seniors? Several more departed when the new coaching staff introduced new offensive and defensive schemes that were very different from the ones Sanford and his staff used. It's interesting how so many want to make Sanford out to be the bad guy when he actually gave this program the most success its seen in three decades. Miles turned the program around, but could never get over the hump. Sanford finally did, it's just too bad it was not sustained.

This, with few exceptions, seems to summarize the history of Sycamore football.
