So, after I left Terre Haute in 1982, and said to myself “Good Riddance” Moved to Dallas, and went through the excitement of big city life. Scored a great job, and enrolled at DBU for my MBA. All is well in my life.
Been everywhere working, and took vacations to the best places in Utopia.

Something about coming back to Terre Haute that gives you an easy feeling that I appreciates. The Grind I went through to make it in this world is just about over, but, The Haute is a yearly trip I do not miss.

Moving to Dallas, I was so broke from my last semester in college, when they gave me a drug test, I tested positive for Roman Noodles.
I’m coming again. Anybody on this awesome blog Jason put together, we’re at The Kappa Sigma Tailgate.

I love going back to Terre Haute. It's like a second home to me. Lots of fond memories and I met some great guys.

It's always tough going back to Terre Haute (in a good way). So many memories around campus and the town hit me like a ton of bricks. It always gets me when I see my old apartment that I spent 2 years in with my roommates just sitting there. I still keep in contact with them but it's sucks knowing that a time like that will never come back. Everybody I made those memories with went their ways and that's just how life goes. 4 years in TH were the best years of my life, I'd go back in a heart beat.

I gripe about Terre Haute sometimes on here, but truthfully after truck driving for over 4 years and having traveled most of the lower 48, eastern Canada, and northern Mexico, there's no where else I would really want to live other than the Wabash Valley. It's simply home to me, and I've lived here my entire life.

I will end this by saying that I do really like Oklahoma for some reason, and their winters are usually milder than ours. I could see myself one day owning a second home (or even just a cabin lol) down there just as a getaway spot, but I can't see myself ever permanently leaving the Wabash Valley.

Broken Arrow is a place to look at. I built a rental there, and it’s absolutely beautiful. Just being in The Haute for whatever reason, just takes the real world off of your mind. Our Fraternity is no longer, but the tailgate gets about 150 or so attendees.

I think about my college days almost everyday. My Head Project Manager has been working for me for 32 years. We were pledge brothers.

So nice to read something positive here. So often it is negative, doom and gloom. I loved my time at ISU for both undergraduate and masters work. Lived through a mayor who would not clean the snow on campus streets because people from out of the city were driving on them. My best friends, still, are from being a Fiji and working with student publications.

I’ve been VERY impressed going back through the years how the campus and Terre Haute has cleaned itself up. Just a neat place to walk around reminiscing.

Larrison? Tucker? Brighton?

I love Terre haute. I've been fortunate to live in a number of places in the U.S., Europe and Asia, and the Haute will always be #1 in my heart. Grew up on 17th and Crawford when "Charlies" was "Tweeties" and carried papers out of the 13th and Crawford paper station. Walked the miles to Wiley High School every day and at night walked to O'Days drive-in on Wabash Ave to work from 4:30 to midnight - school night or not. Only have one sister still living in T.H., but I go back every chance i get. watched Ralph Tucker and his cronies play pea pool at Vigo Bowling ave at noon, was stopped for speeding by Larrison (he loved playing cop), and Brighton was the uncle of one of my best friends. my roots run long and deep.

Are you tailgating for Homecoming? Might try to find you if you are.

If I were to get something in Oklahoma I'd probably go somewhere in the panhandle (preferably Boise City) or in the southwestern part of the state near the Red River. Really like the panhandle since it's only a few hours drive to the Rio Grande gorge in NM, and the Rockies in CO. The Big Bend in TX isn't too terribly far from either location either (less than a days drive).
