Sycamore Proud

The Nicks Level
Ramblings on the EIU event from an old codger:

!. One tthing totally personal. My sight is very poor as you may remember. I was very surprised and thankful to be able to see part of the field and action. I could see the year markers and the white unis seemed to be little sticks moving around. The blues did show. It was the first time I have been able to see parts of the game since 2013 in high school or college. Listening to the radio broadcast made it very nice. The radio guys did a very good job--I was impressed. I credit the lighting for that.

2. ISU needs a more accurate method of determining attendance.

3. The parking pass itself is worth the cost of a season ticket.

4. I loved the enthusiasm shown by the team.

5. My friends who bring me to the games and help me get around need to leave earlier or spend less time eating at Charlies Pub and Grub.

6. Not having one player who picked up multiple 15 yard penalties was important.

7. The band seemed to be larger than it the past several yeasts.

8. This team is going to get better as the season continues--we are very young.

9. The Forest was amazing. Hope they come back and bring a friend next home game.

10. There had to be more than 4600 people there.

11. On street parking was heavy. Several fans had a long walk to get to Memorial Stadium.

12. Our crowd was into the game.

13. One stinking TO killed us.

14. The band sounded great.

15. We let the crowd out after the game and them felt. I noticed loud music on the PA at 10:15 on a school night. Come on ISU, be a good neighbor and can the noise after the game.

16.Pretty solid game from a very young team in it's first game.

17. If you believe preseason ranking have any value, you noticed the the MVFC's lowest ranked team gave the OVC's 3 ranked team all it could handle

18. Over all I thought the play calling was much better than last year's.

19. Regret that we didn't get their in time to check out the tailgating.

20. I was thrilled to see so many young families in the stands around me. Mom and dad with young children having fun at the game. Young kids--that's where it needs to start.

I'm sure you have noticed that I haven't said too much about the game itself. That's because beside the game the crowd, the band, the start time and the weather made this more than just a game for ISU. It was an event.
