The All-MVC Level
#1 Richmond at FCS Delaware
Delaware typically sells out its 22,000 seat stadium as the flagship school in the state. FCS runnerup in 2007, the Blue Hens had an off year at 4-8 in 2008 after losing current Baltimore Ravens QB after the 2007 season. This year Delaware has Pat Devlin, a transfer from Penn State, starting at QB. A big early season CAA South conference matchup.

#2 Appalachian State hosts #16 McNeese State
FCS's three time champion from 2005 thru 2007 lost a heartbreaking game at ECU and should be primed for a win.

#3 Villanova versus Lehigh
Another top CAA South Team

#4 UNI vs South Dakota

#5 Montana on road at FCS UC-Davis - Montana was national runner up last year losing 24-7 to Richmond and beating James Madison on the road.

#6 James Madison on Road at Maryland
Another CAA South Team. Chance for a big FCS victory over another ACC school. Md was embarrassed at Cal last Saturday and will be fired up to get a win BUT JMU and Mickey Matthews will be prepared to play.

#7 William & Mary vs Central Ct State
Another CAA South Team - the 4th in the top 7 nationally. How would you like to play in that division??? Coming off of a win over Virginia, W&M should get a win at home Saturday.

#8 SIU - off

#9 New Hampshire at Ball State
CAA North team on road against BSU which looked vulnerable on TV last week.

#10 Elon of the So. Conf versus Presbyterian
#11 Weber State versus Colorado State
Another big chance for the FCS to make a statement. I believe CSU beat Colorado to open the season. Weber lost a close game to Wyoming to open the season.

#12 Cal Poly versus Sacramento State
#13 Central Arkansas at WKU
#14 Wofford hosts Charleston Southern
#15 SC State at Bethune Cookman
#16 McNeese State at #2 Appy State - see above
#17 UMass vs Albany

#1 Richmond rallies

Junior WR Kevin Grayson blocked a potential game-winning 23-yard field goal with 38 seconds left and No. 1 Richmond escaped with a 16-15 come-from-behind win at Delaware in the CAA Football opener for both teams Saturday in Newark, Del.

Richmond scored a TD early in the 4th quarter to play to draw to 15-13 but its 2 point conversion failed. An interception and return to the Delaware 10 set up a go ahead field goal with 5:33 to play.

Senior QB Eric Ward was 22-of-32 passing with 247 yards and a touchdown, and also was the Spiders' leading rusher with 46 yards and a score as Richmond survived another memorable game between the two CAA powers at Delaware Stadium.

The victory extended Richmond's winning streak to a new school-record 11 games, stretched the team's school-record road winning streak to eight consecutive and marked the team's first win as a No. 1-ranked team since 1985.

#2 Appalachian State 35 Falls to 0-2 on the season
#16 McNeese State 40 Big road win

#3 Villanova 38
Lehigh 17

#4 UNI 66
South Dakota 7

#5 Montana 17
UC Davis 10
The Montana Grizzlies survived another slow start, two record-setting Aggie individual performances, and a light failure to notch a come-from-behind 17-10 road win.

The game was in question with less than a minute to go. UC Davis was knocking on the door, sitting at the Montana 12-yard line down 17-10 when things went crazy in Davis, Calif. The stadium lights failed with 57 seconds left to play, causing a lengthy delay going into 4th and 7.

Following the delay, cornerback Trumaine Johnson out-jumped Davis receiver Chris Carter in the end zone to snag the game-securing interception, Johnson’s second of the game, allowing Montana to run out the clock.

#6 James Madison 35
Maryland 38 (OT)

Maryland freshman Nick Ferrara kicked a 26-yard field goal in overtime to lift the host Terrapins to a 38-35 non-conference football victory over James Madison Saturday.

JMU rallied from a 21-6 deficit to take leads of 28-21 and 35-28 during the final half, but Maryland tied the score with just more than five minutes left in regulation.

#7 William & Mary 33
Cntrl Ct. State 14

For the Cardinal Haters, the New Englanders delivered:
#9 New Hampshire 23
Ball State 16

#10 Elon 41
Presbyterian 7

#11 Weber State 23
Colorado State 24
All Weber State quarterback Cameron Higgins had to do was take the snap as time was winding down, then fall forward to set up a chip-shot field goal to beat Colorado State.

But Higgins couldn't secure the center-snap exchange. The ball deflected off his hands, and so did the Wildcats' chance for an upset.

Guy Miller recovered the fumble deep in Colorado State territory with 42 seconds left as the Rams avoided an upset by winning 24-23 Saturday.

#12 Cal Poly 38
Sacramento State 19

#14 Wofford 42
Charleston Southern 14
