Former Sycamores Jeff Cooper (Attica) and Michael Smith (South Bend LaSalle) have been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2010 Silver Anniversary team.

Cooper came directly to Indiana State while Smith transferred in for his last couple of seasons.

I remember Jeff Cooper but not Michael Smith. Those were not very good years for ISU, were they?

As I recall...and I could be wrong....

but Michael Smth originally went to Notre Dame.....I think....and then transferred back to Indiana State......he didn't play much when he came back though.....

Thanks for the catch and update TJ -- I see why (well, maybe a little) the Indy Star didn't mention it -- 15 years ago the IndyStar story would have had a small blurb on each player...

I am surprised that the Trib-Star didn't mention Smith's time at State; the State MBB Media Guide says he lettered in 1990 (after my time) but I don't remember his name.
nd lists a 'Smith, Michael' as a two-time lettermen from 1986-1987. His name didn't appear elsewhere.

Hey....just doing my job....lol.....

as a former assistant sports information director for the Sycamores.....I have a mind for useless ISU sports facts....lol....just can't remember where I put my car keys though.....lol.....
