Repeat of a post several weeks ago:

"Not that it makes a world of difference unless someone lower in the standings has an outstanding pitcher that is capable of upsetting the apple cart but I noticed in the tourney bracket (last page) that teams that finish the regular standings 2, 3, 6 & 7 (2 vs 7, 3 vs 6) are in one bracket and the 1, 4, 5 & 8 (1 vs 8, 4 vs 5) are in the other."

Here's the finish:
1 Wichita St. 15-6 38-18
2 Illinois St. 15-6 27-22
3 Indiana State 10-10 33-17
4 Southern Illinois 10-10 28-27
5 Evansville 10-11 30-25
6 Creighton 9-12 26-23
7 Bradley 8-13 20-30
8 Missouri State 6-15 20-32

With Missouri State's victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday, the Indiana State baseball team takes the third seed in Tuesday's Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. Both ISU and SIU finished the regular season with even 10-10 records in conference play, but ISU's two wins over Wichita State gave them the third seed through a tiebreaker. SIU picked up just one win over Wichita State this season.

The Sycamores will open the tournament against sixth seeded Creighton at Eck Stadium in Wichita, Kan., at 10:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, May 25. The game can be heard live on ESPN Radio AM 1130 & 1300 and online at http://www.espnsportsradio.com.

Here's the link to the story from gosycamores.com, which includes a link to the offical MVC Tourney Bracket:

Found this post on the Shocker board. You must register and the link says free but after you have registered it lists the games as "Premium" so who knows until game-time?

If you can't make it to all of the games, you can watch live online. All streams will be free.

2010 State Farm MVC Baseball Tournament

I watched them last year on-line and the video production was very good using three cameras. Worth the money.

As ValleyFanatic says below, thanks Valley, the service is free except for the Championship game, which will also be on live television.

The team, according to the what Brian said Friday on the game broadcast, was to have a workout in Terre Haute this morning and then head out to Wichita early this afternoon... a ten-hour trip! They'll practice in Wichita tomorrow in advance of their Tuesday morning game.

You won't have to pay this year. The "MVC Live" is a new service the Valley is introducing this year and is similar to the free Horizon League's online video network. All the baseball games except for the championship will be streamed free. All you have to do is sign up for it.

And in regards to jlandrus's question.. there are 4 games per day in the early days of the tourney this year, due to the format change of allowing all 8 teams in. Somebody has to play the 9:00am game. The 3-6 seed game was pre-determined even before the pairings were made.

Playing the first game has its advantages as well.
1. Heat
2. players are not sitting aorund waiting to play .
3 your done early you have the chance to watch the remaing teams play
Overall I like the early games More energy

I'll give ya the heat thing but the players aren't worried about the other games scouting wise, the coaches are the one doing that.

As for more energry, hard to believe that. Playing at 9 means getting to the field around 7 for batting practice. Waking up around 5:30 to eat breakfast. 9 am game is pretty freaking stupid.

It's early for both teams. It doesn't have to mean we're the ones with the disadvantage. Creighton is actually an hour behind Indiana time, so it's even earlier for them.

Uh, no...

Isn't Creighton (Omaha, Neb.) in the same time zone as Wichita, KS??
a 9:00 a.m. game is actually a 10:00 a.m. game for State, no?

I live in Davenport, Iowa, basically half way, if not quite that, to Wichita, and we're an hour behind Terre Haute, so I would assume that Wichita and Ohama are also an hour behind Terre Haute. So a 9 a.m. game in Wichita should be a 10 a.m. game Terre Haute time, unless I'm missing something.

Last time I checked...

Mitchie the Pen-Knife mandated DST for Indiana and directed it be Central (until it was pointed out that the Feds dictated); so, Ind. now has DST (but w/ the exceptions of 'Da Region' and the FUBAR Southwest Corner) it's Eastern time (including The Haute)

That 9:00 game will be early but not as early if they were playing in the Rockies or Pacific time-zones

So why the heck didnt the 4-5 seed get the 9 am game? It's complete horse:censored: that the 3 seed would play the 9 am game.

For our guys this is a 10:00 game. That means getting up at 6:30 our time I am sure they can do that. Win the game and you get to play later, lose and you play the first game on Wed.
