for longtime tribstar sports writer david hughes, who has been off work for quite a while after battling a severe medical condition....
the get-together was held at "show me's" on south third...it was my first-ever visit to that fine establishment....nice place....
while at the event, i had the opportunity to see many old faces from the paper...people that i used to work with back when i started with the paper....guys like tom reck, joe buckles, don keegan...other former employees of the paper like robert flott, john wright, sean mcdevitt and merv hendricks...current people like editor max jones, sports writer craig pearson and education reporter sue loughlin....
other notables there included pat rady and his son patrick....brad miley....rick shaw....it was very nearly a full house....and i had a good time...we were able to laugh and joke about old times at the paper....
it was sure good to see everybody...and i'm really glad that david is getting his health back and he's ready to get back to work....we've missed him at the paper....
