Easy guys .....there's way too much posting going on with the football threads ....let's all just settle down.

I know we're all excited and such but I don't have the time to read all these views, predictions, reports, rants & raves about the upcoming ISU football season.

Overflowing my tiny brain .................
(Watch the comments guys)

Will it be a successful season if they win 3 games?

Depends on the losses in that scenario. If we win three games and have several respectable close losses one could say we made good progress. If we win three games and suffer 3/4 of our losses as blowouts it wouldn't look as good.

Dr. Lou's Steps to Rebuild a Football Program:

1. You have to teach them to compete for 60 minutes. I don't think that was a problem last year. Lack of talent, a big, big YES. Effort, not so much.
2. You have to teach them to win. That's where we are.
3. You have to teach them to expect to win. We could be in that stage concurrently with #2. Or not, just depends on the mental makeup of the team and the coaching staff.
4. You have to teach them to expect to win Championships. Still down the road, depending upon how well and quickly we do #2 and #3.

If we do a good job of #2 (and then #3), we'll make good progress this season, and the wins will take care of themselves. Assuming, of course, that we've upgraded the talent.

That is too bad. I'm not an IU fan but from everything i have ever heard, he is a very good man. Probably the best coach they ever had too.
