Instead of knocking around helmets down in Indianapolis, Larry King has spent this week at home hitting the books.
Not having a required class to get into Indiana State forced the former Riley High wide receiver/defensive back to turn down his opportunity to play in tonight's Grange Insurance North-South All-Star Football Classic.
"I just found out last week through the NCAA Clearinghouse," King said Thursday night. "I never thought to check into this since I thought everything was taken care of. I guess it's my fault for not paying attention.
"That's why I knew it was more important for me to get this taken care of as soon as possible. As much as I was looking forward to playing in the all-star game, I know playing four years in college is going to benefit me more in the long run."
Taking King's spot on the roster is Concord wide receiver JaVontae Hence.
