Last season, The Sycamores swept a four game series against the Broncos. But they didn't come easy. All were one-run victories and the finale on Sunday went 13 innings!
Thus far this season, the Broncos are 6-8, just coming off a 4-2 finish in the Palm Beach Challenge Tournament (March 1-5). Lucky dogs, the have played all of their games so far in Texas and in Florida! Now, its from Palm Beach to Terre Haute! They haven't played since last Saturday.
As a team, they are batting .244 and on the mound they have a 5.60 ERA. We have no projected starter for this contest. But, on offense, they are led by Ryan McMillan who is batting .340...but only has a .468 slugging percentage. All of their other starters are under .300 and they have a .305 team slugging percentage.
Jason Van Skike, coming off a gutsy 143 pitch no-hitter last weekend, leads the charge for ISU. Van Skike can have another good day today, but this singles hitting team should fair a little better than Central Arkansas. However, if he can scatter a few hits and avoid freebees (he gave up eight walks and hit a batter last week), then he should see his third victory. We should be able to provide the run support with our average of 6.31 runs per game.
Today's game will be on WISU on-line:
