If my memory is correct the Shockers lost by two pts to the national champs -- Louisville

If Kentucky wins it all Monday they will have lost to the national champs by two again.

I've heard several comments from people the last few days saying they thought the Shockers would get deeper into the NCAA -- well, whenever you face the eventual national champs -- game two or in the Final Four and play them to within two pts -- you've done a hell of feat ............and doing it two years in row ........not bad.

I'll be rooting for UConn, not that I like them much either but to hell with Kentucky. As for the Shockers, I really don't care that much.

I think we should care how they represent our conference. And they did fine.
Our performances in other tournaments pretty much shows where our conference is, though.

I can not root for either one of these teams as they both turn my stomach. As for the Shockers, whoopee! Butler actually finished #2 two years in a row and as painful as it is for me to say that was impressive.

I know most of us do not care for Butler, but that has to go down as one of sport's greatest. I remember in the Syracuse game when the Orange could not get a shot off. It looked like 8 on 5. They had the chemistry and effort that 99% of the time coaches and fans can only dream about.

I just don't think anyone really thinks that much about the Valley when it comes to the Shockers. After this year, they probably think we're an awful conference, if they think anything.

What would everyone think of the conference if UK had beaten them by 20? That game should have lifted their RPI/Sagarin and that would lift the conference.

My point is simple -- the MVC champs have been beaten by two points in the NCAA by the champions (If KY wins) two years in a row -- I think that actually says something positive about the MVC. And if Creighton had not bolted the MVC would have been a two bid league this year.
Also as I said, some of my friends thought it was negative that the Shockers were beaten in their 2nd NCAA game -- hell, if you're playing the eventual national champions your loss might be in the final game or the first game. Bottom line -- its pretty impressive (as was Butler) for the MVC champ to do what WSU has done -- give'em some credit !

if you want to read some funny comments about how a National Championship is a joke, go over to shockernet. Apparently going 26-8 then making a final four run is impressive, good coaching, gelling at the right time, leadership, etc. But going 27-8 then making a National Championship run is a fluke, playing mediocre basketball for 4 months then playing good, flawed system, etc.

I will admit that i wish some day that our program can become what Wichita State's is right now. But Some of their comments are just hilarious at this point.

Oh and somebody please tell the UCONN men's basketball team (including their head coach) that using double negatives makes you look/sound like an idiot.
