Lumpkin is a long, athletic wing with good basketball fundamentals. Sanjay is an effective scorer with or without the basketball. His ball handling skills and explosiveness with the basketball allow him to breakdown defenders with the basketball and get into the lane to score. Sanjay has a good shooting technique, good elevation and follow through on his jump shot. He prefers to shoot his jump shot off the bounce and needs to work on coming off down screens and flair screens with good shot preparation. Sanjay's potential could be out of this world because of his length, knowledge of the game and ability to score the basketball. However, he needs to get stronger and keep maturing as a player to keep moving up the charts.
Per ESPN. Indiana State may be on the verge of offering. He was just offered by Drake this week. Below is a link to an interview done with him by GopherHole's Chris Monter.

"Sanjay is an effective scorer with or without the basketball."

Now that I'd like to see...him scoring w/out the basketball that is. :sycamores:

That is damn impressive. Wish I could have found a way to do that, maybe I would have played a lot more when I was back in school. LOL

He notes, " I am working on getting stronger, faster and more explosive. I want to be able to play both guard positions and need to improve my ability to handle the basketball. I do a ball handling routine everyday and try to get shots up 3 or 4 times a week. I am looking to improve my ability to get to the rim, mid-range game... and become a more consistent 3-point shooter."

From a recent Rivals article. Article also stated he has a 3.6 GPA (got to love that) and likes both math and science. So we're looking at a true student-athlete here... would be a great addition to the squad.

seriously, when Drake comes to ISU to play, the students all need to wear shirts that say "D+" on them.

Drake will NEVER live this down, I can't stop laughing about that campaign slogan.

3.6 gpa? That takes him out of the running for Drake. That's way above a D+!

Will be playing in the Adidas Invitational here in Indy this week. I'm going to try and get out to North Central to see him if I can.
