With McWhorter and Walker joining Kitchell today, I think the Sycamores class should be in the books. Wrapping this up will also let the staff begin to focus on the 2011 recruiting class. Below is a look at how the scholarship breakdown will look after this season finishes and heading into next:

SENIORS
Aaron Carter
Jake Kelly
Brant Leitnaker
Isiah Martin

JUNIORS
Dwyane Lathan
Jordan Printy
Carl Richard
Myles Walker

SOPHOMORES
Jake Odum
Koang Doluony
R.J. Mauhrin

FRESHMEN
Steve McWhorter
Jake Kitchell

Just a quick note... if Odum or Mauhrin redshirt, they will be lumped in with the freshmen group, which looks likely at this point. So we'll essentially be looking to replace two guards and two bigs. Further, with McWhorter and Odum, they both are point guards. This would likely mean McKenna would look for the 2011 class to have a couple wing guards, probably one that can shoot the lights out and one that is an athletic, slashing type. For the bigs, I think you want to get a tried and true center and then another guy like Jake Kitchell, a guy that has length, can rebound and score in the post.

If the staff can keep this momentum going, The 2011 recruiting class could shape up to be one of the best classes in Indiana State history, especially after the Sycamores have a good 2009-10 campaign that sees us make some major noise in the Missouri Valley Conference. It's a fun and exciting time to be a Sycamore!

Of the 4 sr's in 2011, none would have to be replaced in recruiting. Some are calling McWhorter a combo, but he sounds to me like more of a PG and not a great shooter.

I don't see any glaring priorities in next year's class. A good opportunity to go after the best available.

Of those seniors graduating in 2011, we only have 1 maybe 2 guards, if you count Carter as a guard. That means we can really go after the big guys in our recruiting process. If we could get Gant for 2011, that would be a nice pick up for the Sycamores, considering he will be playing in his own backyard. If we could get another 6'8 or bigger guy, we could be in for a good 2010-11 season also. I think the Sycamores are kind of set at the guard position with Printy, Odum, and the Eitel twins who can play guard. They really need to go out and pick up some big guys that can score, and rebound, and not get in deep foul trouble game in and game out.
