Figured I'd start the official schedule thread like we had last year. If you come across a firm date, please post it in here so we can update the schedule.

December 3, 2011 - MVC/Mountain West Challenge @ Boise State

2011-12 possibilities...

From Todd Golden's column:

(Paraphrased)
ISU anticipates... opener at home vs Eastern Illinois. (Would be first since 2006)

ISU will play a home-&-home vs Louisiana-Monroe. Gives Lathan a chance to play in front of his family. Lathan’s hometown of Chatham, La., is 30 mi from Monroe. (Inaugural game)

ISU is still deciding whether to return its BracketBusters game with Morehead St this year or next (2012-13). (2-3 series record)

The Sycamores will travel to Buffalo and Boise State. (2-2 series Buffalo; inaugural game with Boise St)

The Sycamores are working on at least 2 more, incl. a poss away game vs a power conf school.

As of now, ISU will play host to Wisconsin-Green Bay and Ball State. (0-2 Wisc-GB; 68-57 ISU-m)

is ISU playing Louisiana-Monroe twice next season, or are we playing there in 2011-2012 and then UL-M is coming to ISU in 2012-2013? Which is it?

SERIOUSLY doubt we'll play ULA-Monroe (aka Northeastern La Univ) TWICE next season; based on Golden's article, I'm assuming we'll play THERE in 2011-12 and they'll come to The Haute in 2012-13. (Lathan's a SR, he won't be playing for us in 2012-13.)

Coming Season....

Looking forward to watching the Sycamores again this year, I saw 6 home games last year and love their energy. Go Sycamores!

Look at the first listing.......North Carolina State looking for home/home and wants to start on the road

http://bti.sportshd.com/mens_schedule_board

That would definitely be worth pursing; a BCS school, great MBB tradition, believe they were middle of the acc last season. Believe the 'Cuse was the only common opponent between their sched and ours ('Cuse won by 6 in the CarrierDome)

Plus WE are looking to start a Home & Home in Terre Haute (or that request is still on the board...)

A MUCH better deal than the proposed URI from last season

+++++++++++++++++++++
west laffy is looking for a home game --- not sure if they'd want to play us again, they're going to miss the two draftees...

ipi is looking for a TON of games -- not my choice but gotta believe the State alums in Indy might like it; Conseco is likely NOT an option...

Since we are on good terms with McKenna, why not go out to Oregon and have a home-home with them?

They made the CBI last year. BCS School that would do nothing but help us as a team. It would bring McKenna back to Terre Haute to see some of his players that he recruited.

A few other schools that seem to be nearby that we could utilize in the near future:

Western Kentucky
Dayton
Xavier
Cincinnati
UW-Milwaukee
Valparaiso

What would be the incentive for Oregon to schedule us? I highly doubt Kevin Mckenna gives two sh**s about Indiana State or his former players judging by the way he was so quick to hop back on Dana Altman's nuts. It would be great if we got a home & home series with Oregon but it aint gunna happen...it's a lose lose situation for them. Keep dreamin...

I agree with Cubbypike, but would add Loyola Chicago, St. Louis, Vanderbilt, and several of the Eastern/Western's of Michigan and Kentucky as potential teams to schedule regularly.

Does anyone know which three teams are in our bracket for the Old Spice Classic during Thanksgiving weekend ? From what I understand there are two 4-team brackets and the winner of each bracket plays in the championship game ?

It is better than playing Texas Southern, Willamette, or Jacksonville State.

Not from their point of view...Indiana State has a better chance to upset Oregon than any of those teams...when you are scheduling "guaranteed win" home games why schedule someone who has a good chance of beating you. And depending on how good Indiana State ends up being this year could determine whether or not Oregon could get an at large bid if they lost to us...like I said its a lose lose situation for them.

I see and understand your point. On the other hand, playing the Trees will provide much better preparation for their conference season than the aforementioned cupcakes. Quality teams prefer quality opponents, especially when played at their house.
