I know that many of you are still reeling from the ISU Football win over FCS Number 1. North Dakota State this past Saturday, but basketball season is just around the corner with the Sycamores opening up play in their lone exhibition game vs. Lewis on November 1. Four of the Sycamores first six non-conference games will be played at home. Of those six games the only one that I see causing the Sycamores any trouble is at UCLA to open the season on November 9. Looking toward that game and the start of the season I have provided a breakdown of the roster and how I see things playing out this season.

Noticed your metioning of Cumming's defense. How would he compare to McWhorter on that side of the ball? I would have payed money just to go watch Steve shut down the other team's best guard and be the "ball-hawk" of the D. I know a lot of people still have hard feelings for Steve the way he exited the program, but any bias aside, how do the two compare?

I think Cummings probably takes more risks than maybe Steve took. Steve could probably defend a taller or bigger player than Cummings becase Steve was built a little bigger than Cummings.
I think Cummings is a little quicker than Steve was - on the offensive side of te ball its night and day. Cummings is nice.

I honestly haven't watched him play enough to know how well he well his help side D is. All I can say for sure, is that his one on one defense stood out to me.

Real excited to see Kitchell get some extended minutes this year, I think he's a guy who can be a difference maker if given time on the court.

Love that Khristian Smith is a 21 year old Freshmen, I really do, he's gonna be a guy that gets overlooked by opponents and he'll take advantage of that...little bit the same way that Odum surprised opponents his freshmen year (maybe).

Odum...can't wait.

Arop...can't wait.

Eitel, shoot and shoot some more.

RJ, can you say Austin Croshere circa 2000.

Can't wait to see the Sycamores against a young UCLA... Shubazz Mohammed still hasn't been cleared to play! Without him ISU has a chance.

It'd be a HUGE upset if we beat UCLA on the road. That would sure help with recruiting and the team's morale for the rest of the season. I hope that game is televised in some way.

Having it televised on Fox Sports does NOT mean that it will be shown on their regional affiliation, unfortunately. Since Fox Sports Indiana/Cincy/Midwest all have different coverages. Hopefully it is but as we have seen in the past on here, it often gets buried and not shown unless you carry a special sports package.
