may as well try to figure this out.

About all we know for certain is the Great Alaskan shootout and Ball State at home right?

with: Indiana State, Iowa, TCU, Tulsa, Pepperdine, Alaska Anchorage, Harvard, Denver (we need 3 good games here)

@ Iona (if we choose to return this game in 13-14, which would probably be a good idea since we have everyone back.)

16-18 MVC games, depending on if we replace Creighton right away

There will be no MVC-MWC challenge. (bad)
There will be NO bracketbuster (good)

Butler is not returning their bracketbuster game with us until the 2014-2015 season, starting a 2 for 1 series (2 @ ISU, 1 @ Butler)

anyone remember if there are other games we know of already?

so we still need at least 6 games I presume. The games with High Point and Winthrop were buy games right? i.e. we don't have to play them at their places next season?

also, will IUPUI come play at ISU next season?

We're also supposed to get games against Purdue in the near future since they have Bryson and we're getting Brenton Scott. Don't know if those start next year or not.

Do we know if the Larry Bird Statue dedication is still happening? If so, I've got to think they'll have a bigger opponent want to come in and be apart of that. There has been so little communication on the Bird statue though so I haven't a clue.

If you filter for us on the basketball schedule board, we're looking to buy a game as well as for a home-and-home series for next year.

Then if you just look at the recent postings, there are some very interesting possibilities and some old standbys looking for games. IUPUI is looking for a home-and-home series, Clemson is looking for a buy game, Murray State is looking to start a home-and-home, etc.

I thought the purdue series started in 2014. That is why I was pissed. We don't have any quality games in the non conference other than maybe games in that tourney. I do think we are doing the dedication still next year. Heard Lansing on a radio interview eariler this year mention something about still needing a quality opponent for that. Either way we need to make sure we find another quality game or two somewhere. Preferably at home but even neutral or road would be better than playing a bunch of high points.

We are gonna have a crappy schedule for 2013-14, because we stand to be very good. No one is going to want to risk a loss to us, and there is absolutely no chance, NO CHANCE, of anyone with any name recognition coming to Terre Haute. No big school is going to give up the money they get from a home game to come to Terre Haute and (likely) take a loss. Look for many more High Points, Truman States, or a schedule full of road games.

The only way we get anyone good to come to Terre Haute next year is if Greg has some "contacts" he can use to badger a friend into coming to Terre Haute. I am not optimistic, as I'm sure just about all of them would say, "Gosh, I don't have any openings next year, but how about the season after that?" (After you graduate half your team...:cheeky:)

We know Creighton won't want to visit the Hulman Center even if they have openings. Thats a freakin fact.

one has to wonder if that is why Butler deferred returning the bracketbuster game until the 14'-15' season? They did give us a 2 for 1 for deferring though. And I think most are right, we are not going to be able to have a very good schedule next season. It's too bad.

It's a little early to assume we're not going to have a very good schedule. Who knows what magic Lansing and Co. could pull out of their scheduling hats.

Potentially, we could already have an Iowa and Tulsa on the slate. And since Lansing has always said we'd play anyone, anywhere, I'm sure we'll have at least one road game against a "power six" conference team.

I should have said it's likely we won't have a very good home schedule. I think in Alaska we can play 2-3 quality teams, that will help. It will probably be set up like Hawaii was, where we'll need to win the 1st game to get 2 more good games.

I was mostly referring to home games, too. That's why I included the statement about us playing a bunch of road games. That's the only way we see any Power 6 teams. And if we don't win our first game in Alaska, that tournament won't do diddly for our OOC SOS. Gotta win that first game.

Alaska is essentially a round-robin... everyone is guaranteed 3 games Win and Advance OR Lose and move into the "loser's half of the bracket"

Yep... has the entire 2013 Gt Alaska Shootout field been filled?

it has been filled, teams are listed in the initial post in this thread. Some good, some bad teams. We need to win game #1 to play 2 good games.

The Great Alaskan Shootout dates have been announced as November 27th-30th. So we're probably looking at a schedule similar to the 2011-2012 schedule when we went to the Old Spice Classic during Thanksgiving. We played 4 non-con prior (3 home games) and then 4 more after the OSC with 2 of those being home games.

Iona game is a good road non-con game to have. Since 2-3 more of those games will be on the road, I just took a peak at the basketball traveler's board. Some interesting new submissions.

Ohio State is looking for a Dec 7 or 27/28 game. Arizona is looking for a game to kick off their season that will be on national television. Murray State is looking for someone to start a home/home series with as is Detroit. Almost the entire A10 is looking for home/home games now including Dayton, Rhode Island, Drexel, Duquense, etc... could be a good get. Oh, and Creighton is looking for a buy game, too.

That would be interesting

Every year people on here bitch about the schedule until it comes out, so like you, I'm not sweating it much.

Saw a post over on an Iowa board that the Shootout bracket should be announced in the next week or so. I'll take their word for it.

Was also reading over on the WSU board and they stated the Valley scheduling mandate is going back into effect. Has anyone heard this?

Recent posts on the schedule board still showing some awesome potential games. I'd love a H/H with Davidson and a game with Ohio State, for example.
